No. When you add your pet you choose “Yes, still with me” or that you are remembering them. A date is only asked for in the second case, and it stays optional.
How do I create a space for my pet?
You create a Petfinity account first, then add your pet with a photo, a name and as much of their story as you want.
What are Coins for?
Coins are used for small gestures at other people’s stars – lighting a candle, leaving flowers or a treat. Everything on your own pet’s page is free, and a written tribute is always free. Coins arrive as a daily allowance in the app.
How do I get access to Pawtoshi?
Pawtoshi is Petfinity’s premium AI companion. It needs a Petfinity account and has to be unlocked for that account – it is not switched on automatically when you sign up. The number of messages per account is limited.
How do videos and portraits work?
They are a separate creative service. You choose a photo and order on the Petfinity bio site; the current options and details are shown there.
Does every memorial include a 3D companion like Ody’s?
No. Ody’s 3D companion is an individual example. A standard memorial shows your pet’s photo, story and the gestures others leave.
I already have photos on my phone. Why put them here?
Photos on a phone are scattered across years and easy to lose. Here they sit together with the story and the small everyday moments on one page with its own address – one you can share, and where other people can leave a candle, flowers or a message.
What happens right after I sign up?
A short guided tour, then you add your first pet: a name, the species, whether they are still with you, a photo and as much of their story as you want. A star is placed on the shared map for you, and the page is ready straight away.
What is included, what costs extra, what is still in beta?
Creating a page and a star is free: a public memorial page, up to five photos and five memories, gestures from other people, and five Coins a day. Larger plans add more photos, memories and Coins. Videos and portraits are a separate creative service. Pawtoshi, the premium AI companion, has to be unlocked for your account.
Who is behind Petfinity?
Petfinity started with Ody, a Jack Russell Terrier born on 1 June 2003. He was family for almost nineteen years. When he died on 24 April 2022 there was no worthy place for everything he had been – so his person started building one. Ody’s page is the one you see throughout this site.
